Guidelines

If you are going to print on a transparency using the colour laser printer, please use the tray in the middle to feed the transparencies to the printer. Do not use the lower tray to feed the transparencies to the colour laser printer.
Now both the network printers in the theory group are operational. To make optimum use of the resources (paper saving and also cartridge utilisation) it is recommended that single page and also single sided prints should be taken from the old network printer (IP address 172.16.2.17 for those who may want to configure their desktops to directly access it) with the command in theory server as
lpr -P lp5 <filename>
The new printer (IP address 172.16.2.122) should be used only for duplex printing (double sided printing) with the usual command from theory, i.e.lpr <filename>
along with the optional -h switch to avoid (hopefully) the extra page printing the header.
