EHT and the shadow of the black hole --- A magnificent feat

In this talk we discuss the basic physical premise, based on which a black hole shadow may be envisaged. We then discuss the ingenous attempt to `see' the black hole. And at last, we discuss the basics of numerical simulations performed and from which synthetic image obtained, which enabled to confirm the observation.
