SINP will celebrate National Science Day (28th February) on 10th March, 2016. National Science Day is celebrated each year in marking the discovery of the Raman effect by Indian physicist and Noble Laureate Prof. Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman on 28 February 1928. On 10th March, 2016, SINP will host students and teachers from nine higher secondary schools from the remote areas of South 24 Parganas, West Bengal. The expected number of participants are around 500. The programme will start with two lectures (in Bengali) by SINP faculties in the area of biological and physical sciences. It would be followed by a questions & answers session where a few SINP faculties from different areas will join as panelists. The programme will end with a scientific quiz to be conducted by the Research Fellows' Association of SINP. The whole programme is coordinated and funded by CARE of SINP.
