My research interests are in the various aspects of string theory and M theory. In recent years I have worked in non-perturbative symmetries in string theory, various supergravity solutions including bound states, non-supersymmetric brane solutions (both static and time dependent) and studied their properties to understand open string as well as closed string tachyon condensation. Time dependent solutions have been used to study the string cosmology. I have also worked in certain aspects of AdS/CFT and AdS/QCD correspondence. My current research program continues to the study of non-supersymmetric branes, their relations to black hole entropy calculation, string theory/gauge theory correspondence and also the different aspects of AdS/CFT and AdS/QCD type correspondences in general.
