Indian National Gamma Array (INGA)

Aim:

A system for the study new  physics
below  0.01% population level            =>   3rd Generation Type
Total Photo peak efficiency ~ 5%
Detection limit ~ 1 x 10-5 (with RMS) =>  m barn

Requirement  :

High Photo-peak efficiency and energy resolution
Solid angle coverage ~ 50% of 4p
Good P/T ratio achieved with restricted BGO material
Higher granularity
Small Doppler broadening

This facility will be rotated within the three major accelerator  facilities NSC, TIFR and VECC.
