Abstract        :

We prove local thermalization in integrable conformal field theories in two space-time dimensions with non-compact space. The rate of thermalization is deduced as a function of conserved charges characterizing the initial state. In cases where the CFT admits a holographic dual, the equilibrium ensemble in the CFT corresponds to a GGE (generalized Gibbs ensemble) whose bulk dual is a higher spin black hole as in Gaberdiel-Gopakumar duality. We show that the CFT thermalization rate agrees with appropriate quasinormal frequencies in the higher spin black hole. We also briefly discuss compact spaces and absence of thermalization in certain cases.
