This annual school on General Relativity follows the footsteps of AKR in educating and inspiring the Physics students of the country. The duration of the school is approximately two weeks. The first week makes an introduction to the field of Gravitation and the second week is devoted to Cosmology. Each day there is a morning session consisting of two lectures, each of approximately one and a half hours. It is followed by a post-lunch session, consisting of two tutorials based on the morning session. All advanced M.Sc. and beginning Ph.D. students are encouraged to apply. There is no registration fee once selected for the school. Some limited travel funds may be available for the students, so early applications are encouraged.
To apply, write a short e-mail to akr.school@saha.ac.in, mentioning clearly the marks/grade obtained in the last University examinations. Also arrange a letter of recommendation from one of your present teachers which is to be e-mailed directly to this address. Do not phone immediately, because we need some time to collect the applications and then make the selections. The list of selected students will be posted in the school-website http://www.saha.ac.in/theory/akr.school.

Please bring a photo Id-Card. This is for the entry to SINP. Your names and home Institutions are with the Securities at the Main Gate. Please mention the activity and show your Id-card to enter. Registration Desk is at the main entrance lobby of SINP. Classroom is at the top floor, room # 450. Always display the school-badge given to you while you are inside the campus (it will also ensure your future entries, so please RETURN the badges to us when you are finally leaving). Participants staying in the Hostels will get dinner and breakfast at the Hostels. Regular pick up services are available for the participants staying in the SINP Hostel (Meghnad Abasan II).
To reach Meghnad Abasan II take any bus/taxi to the island of "Ruby Hospital" at the E.M. By-pass. From the island walk (about 5 min) towards South and the Abasan is on your right before the Peerless Abasan "Abhisikta" (Meghnad Abasan is a Housing complex in which the Guest House is located). Ask the securities at the gate.
