We are engaged in both theoretical and experimental investigations of different properties of nuclei.

   1. Alpha-decay half lives of 1700 superheavy elements (100 < Z < 130 ) are predicted.
Half lives of a few long-lived superheavy nuclei have been suggested.
arXiv:0803.4151v2 [nucl-th] , The hunt for superheavy elements

   2. Half lives of several spherical proton emitters are predicted.

   3. Bethe-Weizsacker mass formula has been extended for light nuclei.
Some new shell closures (including N=6) as well as disappearence of some known magicity were predicted.
Prediction of N=6 shell closure has been confirmed experimentally in Phys. Lett. B600, 26 (2008).

   4. A single generalized mass formula is developed for both the non-strange nuclei and strange hypernuclei.
      Masses of unknown hypernuclei containing Lambda(uds), Lambda-Lambda, Sigma+(uus), Sigma0(uds), Sigma-(dds), Cascade- (dss),
and Theta+ (uudds-) hyperon(s) can be found using this formula.

Neutron and proton driplines for hypernuclei are predicted.
Some exotic hypernuclei beyond the normal neutron and proton driplines are predicted.
Experimental investigations on hypernuclei will be carried out at J-PARC/KEK, Japan and at the Jefferson Lab, Virginia, USA.

(In Phys. Rev. C76, 024909 (2007) this generalized mass formula for strange and non-strange nuclei was named as, "Samanta Formula" ,
and used to predict relative yields of hypernuclei in multifragmentation of nuclear spectator matter).

   5. 6Li target breakup reactions were studied at VECC, Calcutta and a critical momentum transfer was pointed out for a change of reaction mechanism.

   6. Reaction mechanism of the 6,7Li projectile breakup reactions were studied at BARC/TIFR Pelletron facility, Forschungszentrum, Karlsruhe, Germany,
and at RCNP, Osaka University, Japan.

   7. Experimental investigations with several radioactive ion beams were carried out in collaboration with NSCL, USA and, RIKEN, Japan
Explored exotic nuclear structures through one- and two-nucleon removal reactions.
