The physics of mesoscopic and nanoscopic structures have been an exciting field in basic science and research in this area has been speeding up unprecedentedly in recent years due to many potential applications of these systems. This international workshop will invite a number of distinguished researchers in the field, and provide Ph.D. students, postdocs and young physicists a rich learning environment. This workshop will be biased towards theory and its format will be school-like consisting of pedagogical invited talks with ample space devoted to discussion. The talks will give thorough and in-depth introductions on certain topics and also give some exposure to the recent research activities. The theme of the workshop will be on novel transport phenomena in quantum dots and 1D nanostructures to have an understanding of the interplay of correlation and quantum interference at atomic length scales.
