    Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics was founded as the Institute of Nuclear Physics by Prof. Meghnad Saha, is one of the Pioneering Research Institute of India in fundamental Physics and allied disciplines.

    Air: Calcutta has an international airport, but few international flights arrive at Calcutta directly. Usually one has to take a connecting flight to Calcutta (Kolkata) after arriving at Delhi or Mumbai (Bombay) airport from abroad. The airport is about 10 km away from the Saha Institute and taxi services are regularly available at the Calcutta airport (take pre-paid taxi if possible from the airport itself).

    Time required: about 1/2 an hour (during rush hours).

    Train: Calcutta is well connected by train with all major cities of India. The train stations are in Howrah (on the opposite side of the river Ganga; about 12 km away) and Sealdah (about 6 km away).
