Indian Classical Music:

My love for Indian Classical Music has been inherited from my parents.

My Favourite Vocalists are Ustad Abdul Karim Khan, Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan, Pandit D V Paluskar & Pandit Kumar Gandharva.
My Favorite Instrument Players are Ustad Sultan Khan (Sarangi) & Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia (Flute).

I also love Sufiana Performers like Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Abida Parveen & Wadali brothers.

Well, coming to fusion in the Indian Style (Indipop), Euphoria and 3 Brothers and a Violin hold some prospect. A few Bangla bands have come to survive, but they need to do more experimental work.
Asha Bhosle is my favourite when it comes to Hindi film music, while I often listen to oldies of Gita Dutt.
I do hear a lot of Western Stuff. My favourites being Robbie Williams, Sting, Alanis Morissette, Carlos Santana, Safri Duo, Fatboy Slim & Aerosmith.
I love listening to compositions of Beethoven, Mozart & Bach, and the opera too!

I have deep interest in Indian Classical dance forms, as well as Chhauu dances of Mayurbhanj and Purulia.
I like the rhythm of Salsa, the passion of Tango & Flemanco.
I love watching movies. Few of my favourites are Ben Hur, Lawrence of Arabia, Fight Club, Life is Beautiful (Roberto Benigni), Carmen (the musical), Pather Panchali.
I love to travel like most Bangalis, while I love the Eastern Himalayas, Garhwal, the tribal belts of Bananchal, Kanyakumari district of Tamilnadu.
Places I long to visit are: Valley of Flowers, Bedni Bugyal, Rupkund (Uttaranchal), Manas Sarovar (China).
